How can anyone really enjoy a film with a subject matter like online predators?

It’s hard to say that we liked Caught in the Net. Don’t get us wrong — cinematically, this film accomplishes a lot. It’s well shot and has extremely effective storytelling, especially considering its tough subject matter. Directors Vít Klusák and Barbora Chalupová are skilled storytellers but this Czech documentary feels like a car wreck that audiences are forced to watch for hours. You want to look away but you are painfully unable to.

This film is a must watch for anyone who uses the internet (so… everyone). It’s important to be aware of how easily children can be manipulated by predatory adults and what steps can be taken to keep kids safe as they venture through the digital world. Be warned that this film deals with extremely tough subject matter surrounding sexual abuse towards children. It’s not a film that you sit down to watch casually for a fun and relaxing evening. It’s something you watch to make yourself conscious of just how dark the world truly is.
