Using bright colours, emphatic sound effects, and surreal setups, Slowville tells the story of a stranger visiting a new land only to be seduced by its glory. Slowville's twisted and humorous style feels like Sylvain Chomet ate a rainbow. Films like this bring a new life to animation, proving that it is a genre capable of more than just children's cartoons or happy-go-lucky stories. Animation can be weird and beautiful, it can be art come to life in a way that live action cannot achieve. If you didn't know this before watching Slowville, you certainly will afterwards.

This film was created using a digital hand-drawn style, combining techniques from both classic and computer animation.
